Welcome to ISWA

Indian Society of WA (ISWA) is a non-profit incorporated in 1972. ISWA membership is open to all interested in the objectives of the society.The Indian Society of WA's objectives are to foster the participation of Indian ethnic communities in the development of a cohesive, culturally pluralistic society bearing in mind their historical evolution and contribution to the same.To stimulate and promote interest and appreciation of Indian culture in its widest sense.

To assist, encourage, participate and initiate those activities, which promote the welfare, social, cultural and educational aspects of Australian Indians.To promote joint action and cooperation between Indian ethnic communities on issues of common concern.To cooperate and/or affiliate with any other association in Australia or elsewhere sharing the principals enshrined in theses objects.To undertake such other activities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.

Dear ISWA Life Member,

Please attend the 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Indian Society of WA (ISWA) as per the following schedule:

Date: Sunday, 23rd February 2020

Time: 9:00 am sharp

Venue: Canning Town Hall 1317 Albany Hwy, Cannington WA 6107 (Cnr George Street West and Albany Highway)

Catering: Tea/coffee, soft drinks, and delicious vegetarian lunch

Agenda: As in the "Notice to ISWA AGM 2020"

Please note that as per the ISWA Constitution, there are 30 positions available for the ISWA Council from ISWA Members. All nominees must be Life Members of ISWA for at least one year prior to nomination to the ISWA Council.

All nomination forms of the proposed representatives to ISWA Council must be sent to the Returning Officer in the attached form no later than 6:00 pm Friday, 14th February 2020 at the following address:

Indian Community Centre

ISWA is in the process of buying the property at 12 Whyalla Street Willetton WA 6155 and convert it as Indian Community Centre. Thanks to Hon. Ben Morton and Hon. Dr. Mike Nahan for tireless efforts for the Federal Government funding of $2,500,000 for the renovation of the Indian Community Centre at Willetton, Perth.

However, we need to settle the property to receive federal funding of $2.5m to make it as a world-class multi-purpose venue. We are still short of $180k to get the bank loan to buy the property. http://indiancommunityperth.com.au/donate-now
